Our Vision

Spicewood aspires to be a caring community of innovative, globally minded citizens who take action. 

My philosophical approach to providing classroom instruction follows a constructivism model. I feel that students learn best when they are able to be active learners and construct their knowledge based on discoveries and interactions they make with their environment.  Students are also encouraged to make sense of their environment and learning’s through interactions with classmates. My classroom provides inquiry and exploration in a structured environment, offers quality instruction to a diverse group of learners, educates the whole child and motivates students to be lifelong learners. I provide students with differentiated instruction that uses effective teaching strategies, utilizes technology, fits a variety of learning styles, and embraces cultural diversity. As a teacher it is my role to inspire my students to learn and want to learn.  I want them to find the intrinsic rewards within learning and strive to think, explore, learn and grow as much as they can.  Within these philosophies I teach with passion and patience.
